I have been playing with tammy's pattern for the last few weeks. Every time I think I'm finished I think of another color or yarn combo I want to see it in or a slightly different version of the original pattern I need to try. I don't think I'm done yet. Here are some photos of my experiences so far.

A new yarn from Blue Heron. 65%silk/35% linen/750y/4oz skein.
Judy knit it using "Estuary" by Emily Wessel beading it to add sparkle to the water image. We blocked it and it is so soft, delicate and lacy. There was a lot of yarn left over so it could be made larger.

Here's an update on the baby turtle. She is now in her 8th month out of the nest and 2 3/4" long. She has a very healthy appetite.

Catching and eating her first worm, a favorite food now.

She hangs out in this planter to get some sun and hunt worms while I garden.

A warm little shawl for cool early spring in the color "Luna" knit in Blue Heron Sock Plus. It uses just one skein.

I made this small shawl using one skein of my Softwist Wool in a  crescent pattern. I have a small amount of this yarn left and we have it on sale through March.

Heidi Kirrmaiers' Chance of Showers beautiful jacket knit in "Cardinal" Rayon Metallic by Judy. We liked it so much we had to do it again.

A new addition to our GREEN page, this lacy shawl in "Luna" is an old favorite. It is so easy to make on large needles and is perfect as we go toward spring and summer. https://www.blueheronyarns.com/shop/green/luna-shawl

This new addition to the RED page on our website is the Knit 'N Knacks Shawl designed by Pam Cipriani using Blue Heron Yarns Rayon Loop and Softwist Rayon. It makes a bold statement in the color "Carnelian". It was a very easy and fast knit. It is available from us as a kit: https://www.blueheronyarns.com/shop/red/knit-n-knacks-shawl Want it in another color?  Just ask us.

This beautiful jacket designed by Heidi Kirrmaier has been knit by expert knitter Judy Lewis, the newest addition to the Blue Heron team. It involves a lot of short rows and is best for a knitter with some experience. We did it in our Sock Plus yarn in the color "Deep Slate" and added beads. You will find it on our website in "Kits and Patterns".  https://www.blueheronyarns.com/shop/yarn-kits-patterns/chance-showers

I have begun using other designers' patterns  for some variety. It also lets me have time for other things. One of my favorite designs is the "Pimpelliese Shawl" by Christine Ebers. I have done this in several of our yarns. My latest one here is in our Rayon Metallic yarn in the color "Fern". I'm ready for spring so warm green is my color of choice. I used 1 skein and got a large shawl 72" long that drapes beautifully.
You'll find it on our website in our new category "COLORS" in "Green". https://www.blueheronyarns.com/shop/green/fern-shawl

Baby Terrapin

I think Robert is a girl so I need a new name. I am looking for the Nanticoke name of the turtle who held up Turtle Island. She has had ferns added to her habitat and is happy to have so many hiding places. She is now 4 months old.
What a sweet face!
                                               She dives right in.
                                                 New forest pond habitat.
Hungry as usual.

This capelet is an old design but it has stayed popular. I rephotographed it and rewrote the pattern. I've tried to make it out of other yarns but nothing works as well as the Cotton Rayon Seed. The pattern is free as always with the purchase of the yarn. https://www.blueheronyarns.com/shop/red/capelet
